January 23, 2017

Dear Praying Friends,

Another year has come and gone, another year full of serving God and allowing Him to use us to His glory, another year of God’s blessings and His mercies. I am once again humbled at the greatness of God and His goodness to us.

The year 2016 was a very busy year as God opened doors in miraculous ways! We were honored to be in many different meetings, churches, directing/helping in Vacation Bibles Schools, preachers meetings, and on and on. We truly do serve a great God!

For this new year coming up, after much prayer and Godly counsel, we have decided to continue the conferences that my dad started, The Foundation Conferences. We have been asked to continue these with a focus on the King James Bible, using the Antique Bible Collection that God has given us to travel with and to display and share with God’s people!

In the last 12 months, God has allowed our ministry to be used in 45 meetings, see 91 souls trust Christ as their Saviour, 13 following the Lord in Believer’s Baptism, many people rededicating their lives to Christ, and 8 surrendered to full time Christian service. We serve a great God!

Thank you for your prayers for us, your support/love gifts which help enable us to accomplish God’s will for souls to be saved, people built in the faith, and ministries strengthened. God has miraculously met each and every need, physical, monetary, and spiritual. Please continue to pray for Lilly, Sandy, and I, our ministry, safety and health as we travel, and that God would continue to use us to point souls to Him.

Thank You and God bless,

Your servants for Christ,

The Watts Family

Another of the Antique Bibles in the collection is an original printing of the Spanish 1569 Bear Bible, “Biblia del Oso.” It is in GREAT condition and it is our honor to carry and display.

La Biblia, que es, los sacros libros del Vielo y Nuevo Testamento.
Translated by Casiodoro de Reina. 1569.
The earliest complete Bible printed in Castilian Spanish was translated by Casiodoro de Reina (c. 1520-1594) of Seville, who fled the Inquisition in 1557 and preached to Spanish Protestants throughout Europe. Emboldened by the Council of Trent (1545-63), which had endorsed vernacular Bibles, Reina based his translation on the Spanish Old Testament known as the “Ferrara Bible” (1553), the Latin translation by Santi Pagnini (1470-1536), and various Greek sources for the New Testament. Although editions of this Bible continued to appear outside of Spain, it was not until 1790 that the Spanish crown allowed the first Castilian Bible to be printed within Spain. Known as the “Biblia del Oso,” the “Bear Bible” of 1569 derives its nickname from the woodcut on its title page showing a bear retrieving honey from a beehive, a reference to the sweetness of the Lord’s words (Psalm 119). Accompanying the woodcut are the Hebrew and Spanish texts of Isaiah 40:8, “The word of our God shall stand forever.”
